Jonny Evans (36) returned to Man Utd on a free transfer last summer. After being out of contract at Leicester and no real progress were made regarding a new deal, he got an opening to train with his former club until he had secured a new deal somewhere else, but instead Erik ten Hag did see the qualities and skills of the Northern Ireland team captain.

He was highly rated at Leicester, being signed from West Bromwich for a relegation clause fee of £3.5million. A great deal for both parties as he lifted Leicester in a good relationships with different partners in a back four, including his current teammate Harry Maguire.

Erik ten Hag put trust in the central defender, being described as one who should not play at Man Utd at this time and being described as one of lower value. It’s a real disgrace to see this, for different voices to express such talk, as it has little or no substance in a total picture.

The top men of management, are thinking people and has got to this level by good results in the past, but still getting in trouble when the rib and history of a club makes the mission and not taking into consideration what type of competition environment you have in other clubs such as Arsenal, Man City, Liverpool, Tottenham, Chelsea and others.

Jonny Evans has in total 30 appearances for Man Utd this season, 23 of them in Premier League. He has shown everyone he can still cope with this level. 11 wins, 1 draw and 11 defeats. In 8 of the games he came on as a sub. The FA Cup resulted in a fantastic last win vs. Man City, coming on late in the game, being on the field when the pressure was immence from the opponent, and being able to yet again bring home a fantastic trophy.

He has been capped 106 times by his country N Ireland, won the FA Cup twice, once with Leicester and yesterday another time with Man Utd. A fantastic footballer who might be either looking for a retirement plan or having one or two more seasons in play, but this time around we do believe he will be leaving the club of his heart, well done and best of luck for the future to Jonny Evans.
