Serie A giants Juventus were said to be interested in hiring Roberto Mancini as their next manager. They were considering him when Tiago Motta, their head at the time, was let go. This never happened, instead Igor Tudor took charge. Juventus is said to still be keen on him as one for in the future.

His former clubs Inter and Leicester are also looking to recruit a new manager this summer. It will be interesting to see what comes next for the prominent footballing profile.

Leicester are a club that in the past had a good path with Italian manager appointments. Enzo Maresca and Claudio Ranieri both made their solid mark as managers at this football club.

The connection with Leicester is long gone. Playing for the club while they were still at the old ground Filbert Street makes some good memories. He left after just 4 games to start his first role as manager with Fiorentina.

He joined Fiorentina in March 2001. In his first season with “I Viola” he managed to win Coppa Italia. Something he also achieved when in charge of Lazio in 2004. In his days with Inter Milan he managed to win 3 Serie A titles and 2 Coppa Italia.

We all know his record at Man City. He was in charge of The Blues from 2009 to 2012, winning the FA Cup and Premier League. After leaving Man City he had a spell with Galatasaray. In 2014 he made a return to Inter. From here he moved to Zenit in 2017.

He took over as national team manager for Italy in 2018. A position he held until 2023. He was dismissed after missing out on the 2022 World Cup. This was a major setback for Italy. They had won the 2020 Euro’s tournament under Roberto Mancini’s leadership.

His last job in football was as head coach of Saudi Arabia. This never turned out as positive as he had hoped, leaving this position on 24 October 2024. Mancini reached a joint agreement with the Saudi Arabian Football Federation to end his contract. This decision followed disappointing results during the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification. They had draws against low-ranked sides Bahrain and Indonesia.

On April 7, Sky Sports reported that Roberto Mancini had joined Sampdoria. But, as a day later Mancini himself wrote on X to deny the employment.

on April 8 Roberto Mancini posted the following on his X account;

“I am denying the information that has emerged in recent days of taking on a role as a consultant or advisor or head of performance of Sampdoria. I am the first fan and I hope Sampdoria can solve their problems. I hope to return to a job as manager at a new club as soon as possible.”

He has been linked with Juventus and AC Milan. Recently also seen as a potential new manager at his former club Inter. Inter is currently searching for a new manager to replace Simone Inzaghi. He has left to take over Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal.
