Guro Reiten, labeled “baby face assassin”, could lift the FA Cup trophy with her team mates this evening as Chelsea came out 1-0 winners vs. Manchester United. The game took place at Wembley in front of 77 390 attandances.

The game in itself became a tight affair between to two parties, in the end Chelsea were winners of the FA Cup for the third year running with a goal in the 68th minute, goalscorer, Sam Kerr.

Reiten was not the only Norwegian on the field this evening, also playing the game at Wembley was Maren Mjelde, seen as a legend in the womens game. Manchester United had two Norwegians in their squad, Lisa Fjeldstad Naaslund and Vilde Bøe Risa, neither getting field time.

Maria Thorisdottir missed the final through injury, being sidelined for the rest of the season. To see the womens game in such fantastic progress, makes it exciting to follow the reminding league games of the season.

Looking at the group of Norwegian players involved you have them doing an important job in several of the teams in the top flight alongside the players from Chelsea and Manchester United, Arsenal midfielder Frida Maanum also have a grand season in the league.

Arsenal are third in Women Super League at this point, but too far behind Man Utd and Chelsea who are fighting for the title with just one point between each other as the teams are preparing for their final games of the season.

Again great to watch Norwegian influcnce in a Wembley final.
