Theo Walcott has been around in football since the early years of this century and still at not more than 32 years of age. He is still a great footballer but his role at Southampton has been more at the fringe but still coming in and giving his very best.

Walcott was last on the field in the fantastic and massive 3-2 away win to Tottenham on the 9th of February and coming on he does really have grand importance.

This season he has been involved in 9 games in all competitions and hopefully can add to this tally as the season continues and hopefully will see Southampton in a safe place in the table.

Watching Theo Walcott play is always nice as his skills are major. We all remember his contributions over the years at Arsenal and Everton before making his return to the south coast.

He is still the youngest player to have played for England making his debut in a friendly vs. Hungary back in 2006. Since his then he has put the England shirt on 47 times and has scored 8 goals. The last time Theo Walcott had this opportunity was back in 2016, playing Spain and coming on to a 2-2 draw.

Few believe he will return to international duty but to have been involved for 10 years with the national team and still be in his 20’s is a bit special.

This is a fun part of the game to see players being debutants in their teens and still being able to compete at this time and age as it is difficult to be involved over so many years.
