New arrival Ohi Omoijuanfo did what he was signed to do, to score goals and he was clever in his finish as the second goal scorer in the 3-0 win vs. Cucaricki. Last years league winners starts in the best way possible.
Dejan Stankovic is their manager and his eye for a goalscorer will never be faulted as Ohi decided to this move as it came surprisingly on local pundits, but looking at the challenge it could turn out great for the Norwegian international.
Last season Ohi scored 27 goals in 29 league and cup games. He has been one of the best forwards in Norwegian football for the last seasons and also played steadily in Europe for Molde.
Will be interesting to see how this will progress but at the age of 28 he might be at his very best and hopefully Red Star will benefit from his presence.
Ohi will with this oppertunity also take up competition with Real Sociedad forward Alexander Sorloth and Borussia Dortmund star Erling Braut-Haaland for place in the Norwegian national team.
So far Ohi has seen his chances limited as players playing abroad are more in demand by the national tema selectors and also a bit strange to see other forwards in Norwegian domestic football being picked and not Ohi.
A grand start as Red Star again will chase the big league trophy also this season and hopefully be able to also have a grand run in Europe.
To grow and become a top club in Europe there are many changes done and alongside Ohi you will find a great number for new faces such as Nemanja Motika, Aleksandar Dragovic, Petar Stanic and Cristiano Piccini.
Red Star will be interesting to follow as they are looking to take a next step towards the top clubs of Europe. They have a massive and very unique fanbase that will follow the club home and away with top interest.
