The life of a professional footballer can be one full of special adventures, as we have looked up the travels of some players possibly more known for their life far away from Danish football.
Goalkeeper Roy Carroll is one that kept it going for a very long time. Carroll, with 45 caps for N Ireland, played for Odense BK from 2009 to 2011, turning out 46 times in the Danish league. He had a long life in football, from his early days at Wigan and Man Utd, via Derby and Odense on to Olympiacos, Notts County and Linfield. He played his first games in league football with Hull in 1995, turing out for a last run in 2023, representing Ballinamallard United.
Bobby Moore and Alan Kennedy are two players from the long past that has been seen playing in Denmark, Moore turning out for Herning Fremad in the early 1978, playing just a handfull of games before the till was empty, with a special deal done to get the former England World Cup captain to play here.
Alan Kennedy, mostly known from his playing days at Liverpool and Newcastle, had a short life in football with B1903. At the time a major club, later to be merged into the establishment of FC Copenhagen. According to an article in Jylland Posten, being described as an unsuccessful trial.
Jack Wilshire played for a period with AGF, not so long ago, turning out in 14 league games for the club based in Aarhus, Jutland. Wilshire struggled with injuries, possibly hoped he would get his career back on track in Denmark, but unfortunately resulting in his last appearances in football all together.
Arsenal and Ipswich forward Chris Kiwomya also appeared in Denmark, playing for another Jutland club, Aalborg AB. He was here for a very short period, playing 4 games in 2001-02.

Scottish international Chris Ivelumo played in Denmark. Representing Aarhus Fremad from 1998 to 2000, playing 27 games, scoring 4 goals.
Mark Robins and Gary Shaw are two known players from the past with a life in Denmark. Robins mostly known for his days with Man Utd and Norwich, turned out for FC Copenhagen in 1996, on loan from Leicester, 4 goals in 6 league games. Shaw plaved for KB, the year was 1988, scoring 4 goals in 14 league appearances.
Bruce Rioch and Colin Todd are two known men in English football, both had a great number of years coaching in Denmark. Rioch was in charge of Odense BK and Aalborg AB. Todd had coaching period at Randers and Esbjerg.
Former England manager Roy Hodgson has a life at FC Copenhagen, being in charge in 2000-01, winning the league and cup while in charge. Going back to the days of the long past, people such as Frank Soo toured Scandinavia and was in charge of many teams, at AB from 1965 to 1966.
This season the only British player in the Danish Superliga is goalkeeper Nathan Trott, joining FC Copenhagen from West Ham in July. Trott has so far played 14 league games for his new club.
We do know a lot of players from Denmark has been imports to the English game, as Danish players were among the first to appear in British football. Dane Nils Middelboe became Chelsea’s first overseas player in 1913 while Rangers snapped up Carl Hansen of Copenhagen club Boldklubben 1903 for £20 in 1921.
