Ederson Moraes is one fantastic goalkeeper, but still not rated as highly as he should, certainly being one player with such special importance at Man City, being in this team since 2017, coming in as summer signing from Benfica for a fee of €40 million.
Moraes had a direct influence, being part of the 2017/18 Premier League winning team, and since shown everyone how you can build your career on winning trophies, as they are all there in his cabinet to show every other goalkeeper in the World, what can be achieved.
He is not first choice for Brazil, having grand competition from Alisson Becker, and of course having just 25 caps to count at the age of 31, is not much, but still he can be proud of them all.
We have also seen this in the past, that goalkeepers playing for the best teams not always are first choice for their national teams, going back a number of years grand trophy collectors such as Alex Stepney (Man Utd), Paul Cooper (Ipswich), Ray Clemence (Liverpool) are examples from the past, being a certainty in their successful club teams, but not having that fantastic international affair.
Ederson has been the number one certainty since his arrival, and still will be counted as the first choice goalkeeper by Pep Guardiola for more years, as Scott Carson is a proof and living example of how age is no say, being part of the Man City squad.
Love to watch the Man City team as this journey continues with full speed and hopefully more trophies coming in the door with a great start to the new campaign, could it be four out of four this season, who knows, with Ederson Moraes as the preferred first choice.
