Raheem Sterling is still in demand as he looks to help Chelsea up the league ladder and show form that will attract Gareth Southgate’s eye and hopefully give him a chance to play in the Euro 2024 tournament.
Very much depends on him staying fit and also having good form from now until the end of the season, hopefully adding to his 5 goals so far in league action.
He has been on the field in 19 of the 21 games played so far, and looks a certainty in Maurcio Pochettino’s first eleven, but still one often taken off during the games, leaving the field after 77 minutes in the last match vs. Fulham.
Chelsea are the team with most won penalties this season, 8 to count, with Raheem Sterling winning 3 of them. This shows that he should be one in the frame for a new England call up, and hopefully get on the plain to Germany in the summer.
At the age of 29 the clock is thicking, but hopefully it will be more game time for Sterling in Premier League and at Chelsea, with rumours linking him also with a move to Saudi Arabia.
Hopefully that will not happen and we do feel that Gareth Southgate should be looking to play Raheem Sterling in his England team and let him continue to play up front for The Three Lions, giving him a chance to ad more caps to the 82 he has so far.
Will be interesting to follow up one of the best players in Premier League over the previous seasons doing his best at Liverpool and Man City before making the move to Chelsea in 2022, so far 47 league games for Chelsea and 11 goals scored.
