Claudio Ranieri will always be remembered for his dream act at Leicester, but as we surely could see even performing magic in one season it will not give you any safety in the next.

The brutal truth is far from predictable and flirting below expectations of performance will always set you in danger of losing your job.

Since Claudio Ranieri left Leicester he has taken on several projects. After his second spell in England he went to France and took charge of Nantes. Fulham was his next project but as we all could predict and probably Claudio himself it was not to be long lived with a struggling team far from being a steady performer at this level.

Roma approached him after his dismissal from Craven Cottage. He was in interim charge until the end of the 2018/19 season. Sampdoria came in and offered him a new chance and he did well, but still parted company with the Serie A club after last season.

Watford came in for him but again he must have known what type of job he had taken on at a place were sacking the manager after a few bad results is the normal and not the opposite. His stay with Watford was a longer one than what he managed at Fulham.

During his fantastic season with Leicester he destroyed other managers with results sending Manuel Pellegrini out the door at Man City, Brendan Rodgers had to leave his post at Liverpool, Jose Mourinho was also dismissed at Chelsea, all being far behind Leicester and also having a few battles lost against Claudio.

This season Claudio managed to defeat Rafael Benitez at Everton and also a fantastic result against Manchester United which was the final straw that killed every hope of a chance for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to continue. The sad story of it all is that all three of them no longer are in charge of their teams and we do miss them all as they are in their own unique style fantastic men of football management.

Watford did the extraordinary and appointed another man we all thought had left the game for good, Roy Hodgson, Manchester United decided on an interim role for the time being in Ralf Ragnick and Everton found the younger alternative in Frank Lampard.

The circus of management in football continues with the same chop and change policy that in some way work and others not as clubs move forward and doing what they can to be part of a Premier League life which in all is so very important.
