English football transfer history, major moves, 1970/71, Colin Todd, Henry Newton and Bryan “Pop” Robson

Colin Todd was the major move of the season joining Derby from Sunderland in a £175.000 move, which was a record fee for a defender. He arrived in January and soon build an iconic defender partnership with another England international, Roy McFarland.

Bryan “Pop” Robson made his first move to West Ham in February 1971, joining from Newcastle for a fee of £120.000. Robson helped West Ham avoid relegation to the 2nd tier.
