Mason Mount (24) joined Man Utd this summer for a fee of £55million. He was given the iconic number 7 shirt, but so far his time at Old Trafford looks a sad affair. He is a natural attacking midfielder that would fit in most teams.

Erik ten Hag looks to be in doubt about his new player and so far not really given anyone an idea of what the plan is with Mason Mount as the England international with 36 caps for his country, currently is no longer part of the England squad.

With a certain Bruno Fernandes (29) captaining Man Utd, you will not see Mason Mount shine, being number two in the playmaker ranks at the club. Erik ten Hag looks to have faith in Bruno, but rumours linking the Portuguese with a possible move to Saudi Arabia in January, it would be a massive surprise if Mason Mount is not given the full look-in to become what Man Utd expect from him.

Watching Mount and his progression at Chelsea, makes it difficult to understand his choice of leaving The Blues, but still a tricky player to place in your line-up, as his abilities is mostly seen in the opponents half and of course up there in the offensive midfield role, and not a battler and a traditional midfielder who have both the attacking and defending gene.

In football today you have less traditional midfielders as we used to like them, playing in a 4-4-2 system, playing almost forgotten. You had often a more traditional midfielder playing wide and on the other side a traditional winger, helding the ball and moving down the flank.

Mount can play wide, but not really seeing him as a traditional midfielder doing the central job in a team depending on two forwards, as the game now often is played in a 4-2-3-1 system, using Mason Mount as a player in that middle three behind a single forward.

We hope Mount will get his chance to shine for Man Utd it will be a pity to see another wasted talent moving to Old Trafford and not being able to do what is expected as other players such as Harry Maguire, Antonio and Jadon Sancho is three other massive signings that has come under a lot of critisism and not really been the players fans are expecting the to be.
