He is probably not the most famous footballer in the World, but to have been playing music and football in a professional manner with the likes of Thierry Henry, and at the same time been on the same stage as Calvin Harris and David Guetta, not easy to find one more awesome.

Jan Gunnar Solli from Treungen, a little place in the inner parts of Telemark Norway, made the most out of his football career. Moving at a young age to join top level club Odd Skien and from there to Rosenborg, Brann and New York Red Bulls. After his spell in the MLS he had spells at Swedish Hammarby and Oslo based Vålerenga.

He played for the Norwegian national team between 2003 and 2010 and has 40 caps to his name, scoring one single goal. During his days with Rosenborg he also played regularly in the Champions League.

55 MLS games to his name for New York Red Bulls, during the years of 2011 and 2012, and alongside him in the Red Bulls team was no other than Arsenal and France legend Thierry Henry. Other known faces at Red Bulls in those days were Lloyd Sam, previously with Charlton Athletic and Tim Cahill, Australian international with an earlier career at Everton and Millwall.

Solli moved a bit around during his career and picked up a number of trophies. Winning the Norwegian league four times and a cup winner once. He is well known for his music passion. He is at the moment actual making his moves in the Norwegian version of “Strictly come Dancing”.

Besides his professional football career he has also done enough in the music business to be in the same ballroom as David Guetta and Calvin Harris, warming up for the two stars during a show in Las Vegas a time back. DJ Solli is a well known “trademark” and when he is out there on the dance floor or behind his “mix”, he can get things rolling.

Many strange happenings in a life of a footballer, but to be on stage with the likes of David Guetta and Calvin Harris and also to have a cv telling us he did play alongside Thierry Henry, who can beat that?
