EXCLUSIVE: Sylvinho on Wenger’s Arsenal, Ronaldinho and Guardiola’s Barcelona

Sylvinho was the first Brazilian to sign for Arsenal, a Champions League qualifier with Celta Vigo and a two-time European champion with Barcelona, where he started the 2009 final against Manchester United at the age of 35.

In the first part of an exclusive interview with Flashscore, the former left-back looks back on Arsene Wenger’s attention to detail, sharing a flank with Ronaldinho and the night at the Bernabeu when he realised Pep Guardiola’s team was something special.

Sylvinho has since his retirement, leaving Man City in 2010, been involved in football as manager of Lyon, Corinthians and latest with Albania national team, stepping down from the postion in May this year. He has also had prominent assistant manager jobs at Inter Milan, Corinthians and Cruzeiro.

EXCLUSIVE: Brazil legend Romario Positive About World Cup Hopes, Compares Team to ’94

Brazil legend Romario is in the United States for the World Cup. 32 years after leading his nation to their fourth world title, he now splits his time between commentating for CazeTV, creating content for his own channel, Romario TV, and fulfilling his duties as a senator for Rio de Janeiro. Amidst a packed schedule, he found the time to speak with Flashscore exclusively.

As usual, Romario mentioned the 1994 victory and compared the pressure faced by that generation to the current one. What they have in common: the same 24-year drought!

The former star sees a Brazil that is improving at the World Cup and says he is “enthusiastic” after their 3-0 win over Scotland.
