Mario Balotelli had a glorious future and his early years as part of the Manchester City revelution made a promise of something huge. He had his place in the Italy national team and as a teenager possibly one of the most exciting players of his generation.

Newcastle are eager to get their relegation battle under control and to see Baloteilli back in Premier League action would be iconic. The now 31 year old forward is just one of many players linked with a move to St James Park at the moment.

No one doubts the talent of Balotelli, currently with Turkish club Adana Demirspor joining them last summer from Monza. Despite his many travels and moves inside the game he has not given up hope of football as he continues to play and have the hunger to score goals.

Since leaving Man City in 2013 his travels has seen him at AC Milan, Liverpool, Nice, Marseille, Brescia before the moves talked about above. The goalscoring has not stopped either with a good amount of goals being scored in every club he has appeared for.

Balotelli do have a release clause in his current contract something Newcastle looks to be willing to trigger and bring the forward to St. James Park and to see him in the iconic number 9 at some point would probably not be a bad idea.
