Lionel Messi has not yet lifted the World Cup trophy, something few will do during a career. Looking back at previous World Cup winners you will find a few that you might have forgotten and for those not really following German football much, Christoph Kramer might be one of them.

The central midfielder, at that time on loan at Borussia Monchengladbach from Bayer Leverkusen. He is still at Monchengladbach doing his job in the midfield area.

Germany did play fantastic in that World Cup with Lionel Messi and Argentina getting close to the trophy reaching the final, but it was not to be and instead Christoph Kramer lifted the trophy with Germany. Kramer left the field early after a heading incident, but he did start the final and of course a winner of the magic gold medal.

Slightly forgotten for most as his career freezed a bit and to date not beein involved in more than 12 full international games. Kramer was just 23 years old when winning this majestic honour, he will turn 31 in Feburary next year.

Christop Kramer just have this World Cup to count as his only major trophy in football. And of course far from Lionel Messi who can add up big numbers of trophies, but still miss that medal which is the only one of Christoph Kramer.

Football is a funny old game, making it all strange as Christoph Kramer has his hands on a special medal few will ever get to see. He has a good career behind him with Bayer Leverkusen, Bochum and Borussia Monchengladbach but few believe he will add more full internationals to his name.
