England goalkeeper stituation, difficult

Joe Hart is no
longer a certain first choice for England, but he will be in
contention with a number of other goalkeepers
The heritage is huge, with names such as Gordon
Banks and Peter Shilton to follow. Since "Shilts" stepped down after
the 1990 World Cup, it's been a bit of a problem to find that
certain player that would be the perfect pick.
David Seaman, David James and Joe Hart are all goalkeepers with a
great number of caps and Hart is still in contention, but not really
a reliable choice. So who are the most impressive among the
Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope has been very impressive this season,
and if you look at the Premier League title, he is in the top of the
list, if you look at the leauge position at the moment.
Tom Heaton who at the moment is understudy to Pope and not able to
get back in the first team after fantastic performances from the
former Charlton Athletic man Pope. Heaton is actually another
candidate for Gareth Southgate, but not probably at the moment.
Joe Hart will, if he continues to play for West Ham on a
regular basis until the end of the season, be a candidate and
probably be included in the squad for Russia. He has great routine
and experience and should be given one of the three places.
Jack Butland is by many pundits looked up and as the man to
take over from Hart, but his performances at Stoke has not been up
there on the top shelf and he has not really impressed heavilly when
given the chance in the England team.
24 year old Jordan Pickford is another candidate. The Everton
goalkeeper is a steady up and coming goalkeeper. The list is not
longer and other candidates such as Fraser Forster and Ben Foster
are today not really anything else than emergency candidates.
We would like to see Nick Pope being the first choice, but Southgate
has not yet given the 25 year old his debut and could risky to do
that in the World Cup, so hopefully he will see a possible chance in
the next games for the Burnley man.
To sum up, Gareth Southgate should include Nick Pope, Joe Hart and
Jordan Pickford. A close race for Butland, but watching Pope you
believe he is the best goalkeeper in England at the moment.
