The return of a lion, Zlatan back in action, what will now happen at
Man Utd

DATE: 25.11.2017 - SOCCERVOICE - NEWS - SEASON 2017-18

Zlatan made his return to action earlier this month. The fact that the Swede has made his comeback before schedule is fantastic

The 36 year old came on as a sub against Newcastle in the 77th minute replacing Anthony Martial. Midweek he made a new appearance coming on again for Martial, but sadly not able to score and on the pitch when Basel hit the winner in the 89th minute.

Few thought it was possible for a player at his age to return to the very highest level of football, but as he said himself, he is not human, but a lion, and is back in action and of course something we all love to see.

His first season at Man Utd was much about Zlatan, taking his position in the team and in a way helping the club to two titles last season and despite ending outside the top four in Premier League, getting a place in the Champions League via their Europa League triumph.

Of course Manchester United are after the big titles and the start of this season, with Romelu Lukaku in and Rooney out, has been much better placed in 2nd after 12 games played.

To get Zlatan back in action is of course fantastic for Mourinho who will have one more quality player to chose from in his arsenal of great footballers, so we will just wait and see what this could lead to.

Jose Mourinho signed Lindelof and Lukaku in front of the season, a fellow Swede and a Belgian top quality forward, but it will not affect the position of Zlatan as an "icon" and a "boss" inside the Man Utd dressing room.

Sweden made the impossible act of going through to the World Cup after a great result at home winning against Italy, with both Jose Mourinho and Zlatan in the stands, and the big question just minutes after the final whistle blow, will it be a place for the veteran in the World Cup squad.

Officially Zlatan retired from international football after the 2016 Euro's, and so far there is no answer if he will return. The Swedish people would love to see Zlatan in "yellow and blue" again, but we just have to wait what happens.

To see that the national team and also Manchester United are doing fine without their veteran forward is also a sign of things, but we all hope that everything will be a good return for Zlatan and that he will have a great season with Man Utd.
