Rangers could give this man a quick return to management

DATE: 27.10.2017 - SOCCERVOICE - NEWS - SEASON 2017-18

Ronald Koeman just walked out at Everton, but could be the next man in at Rangers. A challenge a number of big names would consider a top job

Ronald Koeman is not the only man linked to the vacancy, and another Dutch, sacked earlier this season by Crystal Palace, Frank De Boer could look at this as a chance to be manager at his former club.

Rangers is a big club and whoever gets the job will be able to form a ship that can sail and be a steady competitor in the Champions League, and of course again become the only club who in a way can challenge Celtic in Scotland.

Derek McInnes who is in charge of Aberdeen is a name mentioned so is Sam Allardyce. Allardyce might be tempted, since this is a type of challenge that could trigger him. What about Harry Redknapp, available and one who knows how to harvest fast.

New York City FC boss Patrick Vieira is also linked. To get back in European football and be in charge of a club like Rangers would probably be a challenge too good to durn down, and he would tick all the boxes.

Rangers, as we all know, has been in a change over the last four of five years and to get back to the top as fast as they did is of course a great achievment, but the next step might be to get back into Europe and be a real contender to Celtic and that is a difficult job.

One person with experience from the highest level, or even from the international schene is of course a thrill. Then to see the names of Martin O'Neill, Alex McLeish and Chris Coleman surprises no one.

There are other people out there who are free and open for options. This club needs an experience boss so Sven Goran Eriksson could be one to consider, doing his best management at clubs such as Benfica. Roma and Lazio.

The SPL is not the most exciting league in Europe, but if you can get Rangers out there season after season, and also start to win domestic trophies again, what a fantastic job to land.

Greame Murty is in temporary charge, while Rangers are searching for their next manager. Former boss Ally McCoist has also made no secret about his interest in returning to the club he was in charge of from 2011 to 2014.
