knew that Terry's career would come to an end at Chelsea, if the 36
year old continues somewhere else is at the moment, not known, but
his time at Stamford Bridge is finally over, as a player
This is official news from
Chelsea, this Monday afternoon. Terry
has been a real leader at the club for the last decade or so, with
his involvement it's been the best era in the clubs history.
John Terry has been the leader of the pack all the time, but his
role at the club has been less and less important in the last couple
of seasons, being troubled with a number of injuries and also
challenged in his position by other players.
But he has been the captain of the team when playing and during his
time the club has won the league four times, the fa cup, league cup,
europa league and champions league.
He has been at Chelsea for 22 years. He made his
debut in 1998 and has in total played 713 games in total. He says he
still has more to give, but his chances at Chelsea has been less and
less and this season not being involved as much as he would have
He was close to leaving after last season, but new manager Conte,
made it possible to stay with a new one year deal agreed. This is no
option for the former England international, who is eager to make a
move and stay on playing.
The club will like to get Terry back whenever he decides to retire
as a player and knows his importance for the club in total. He
retired from international duty in 2012, after a total of 78 caps
played and 6 goals scored.
What comes next for Terry ?, doubtly a contract in England, but
maybe China or MLS will be something to consider. A few suggestions
has also been that he will continue to play north of the border,
with Rangers a possible club to join.
Gary Cahill has so far been the player to support as new captain for
Chelsea. He has been the assistant captain and this season been more
on the field with the armbind than Terry, so Cahill will probably
continue with the armbind in the future.
Chelsea without John Terry will be strange, but life continues for
both the club and the player, wish both the best of luck.
