Mascherano in Chelsea link, Sunday Rumour Radar Update






Javier Mascherano is today linked with a move to Chelsea. Rafael Benitez will struggle to keep his best players this summer, with Gerrard and Torres also in demand

is wanted at Barcelona, but if nothing happens next week, it could be that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has won a massive player battle.

Fernando Torres looks certain to stay at Anfield. If it was up to Benitez and Torres nothing would let them leave Anfield. American owners could say "yes" to a massive transfer fee and open for a Torres exit.

Tottenham will have talks with Wolfsburg forward Edin Dzeko this week. Tottenham are willing to pay
£ 18 million for the Bosnian international. Liverpool is also reported to be interested.

Jimmy Bullard looks certain to leave Hull. The Tigers are desperate to get rid of one of their highest earners, but Bullard has warned that he will not leave before he has found the right challenge.

Matthew Upson could be leaving West Ham. Arsenal and Tottenham could both be great altarnetives. Algerian international Nadir Belhadj could be Avram Grant's first signing as West Ham manager.

Argentinian international Marcos Angeleri is linked with a move to Sunderland. The 27 year old right back has been with Estudiantes since 2002.

Steve Bruce could also be close to signing Dynamo Kiev defender Pape Diakhate. Diakhate has spent time this season at French club St Etienne.

Birmingham will make a £ 3 million bid for Sunderland midfielder Kieran Richardson.

Birmingham are also favourites to sign Wigan midfielder Paul Scharner. Stoke, Fulham and Sunderland are also mentioned as possible new clubs for the Austrian, with Glasgow giants Celtic and Rangers also in the picture.

Blackburn is linked with Real Madrid midfielder Guti. Espanyol goalkeeper Carlos Kameni could also be close to a move to Ewood Park.

QPR will try to sign Hull forward Caleb Folan. Darius Henderson, currently with Sheffield United, is also a target for the London club.

Ipswich is close to finalise a move for Crystal Palace midfielder Shaun Derry. Bristol City and their manager Steve Coppell will try to bring Ibrahima Sonko and Stephen Hunt to Ashton Gate.

Everton and Tottenham will be in a tug of war over Man City forward Craig Bellamy. Everton defender Jack Rodwell is ready to commit his future to Everton and not join Man Utd.

Gareth Southgate could return to management and take over at Portsmouth. The way Southgate introduced youth in a good way at Boro, will be crucial for his possible return at Fratton Park.

James Milner has snubbed a chance to join Man Utd. Rumours are that the only club that can tempt Milner away from Aston Villa is Liverpool.

Aston Villa could join the race for Valencia duo Nikola Zigic and Miguel. Martin O'Neill has accepted that he probably needs another type of players, than traditional British, to break into the top four.

Man Utd midfielder Tom Cleverley, who has earlier spent time on loan at Leicester and Watford, is a close target for newly promoted Newcastle.

Jose Antonio Culebras could join Wigan on a free transfer. The defender was last with Tenerife. Nedum Onouha is set to leave Man City and join either Sunderland, Aston Villa or Newcastle.

Isaac Vorsah is a close target for Blackburn, Everton and Sunderland. The Hoffenheim defender is flattered by the Premier League interest.

Bolton are favourites to sign Portsmouth forward David Nugent. Stephen Ireland is keen to leave Man City with Man Utd, Arsenal and Aston Villa all reported to monitor the situation.

Robbie Keane looks certain to leave Tottenham, with Aston Villa the only club interested to pay the asking price £ 15 million.

Newcastle defender Steven Taylor could be leaving St James Park. Chris Hughton is eager to strengthen other areas in the team. Reports are taht Chelsea, Arsenal and Aston Villa all will be joining the race for the former England U.21 defender.

 Paraguayan midfielder Eduardo Ledesma could be playing in the Premier League after the World Cup. The 25 year old, currently with Lanus, is a target for a number of English clubs with Tottenham, Liverpool and Everton in front.

Jose Mourinho will, if he takes over at Real Madrid, try to bring in a number of English players. Steven Gerrard and Joe Cole will both be targets for the "special one".

Arsenal is ready to hit Bordaux with a £ 25 million bid for their midfielder Yoann Gourcuff. The 23 year old French international has allready played 17 times for his country.

Everton will be tempted by Man City with a £ 25 million bid for Spanish midfielder Mikel Arteta. Everton will at the same time try to bring Djibril Cisse back from the Premier League excile at Panathinaikos.

Jack Wilshire is a season loan target for Newcastle. Norwegian forward Jo Inge Berget, who is currently on loan at Stromsgodset, could be leaving Udinese for a chance in the Premier League with a number of clubs interested. Fulham, Newcastle and Blackburn are all in the race.

West Ham midfielder Valon Behrami is a close target for Serie A club Palermo. Befatimbi Gomis is again linked with a move to Arsenal. The 24 year old French international forward is currently with Lyon.

Sunderland is reported to be keen to add Birmingham midfielder Barry Ferguson to their squad. Former AC Milan and Napoli defender Steinar Nilsen left his post as Brann Bergen manager this weekend.
