Transfer rumours update, Soccervoice, Gudjohnsen returns

Eidur Gudjohnsen looks close to a return to English football. The former Chelsea forward is currentliy weighing up his options

Tottenham are favourites to sign the Icelandic international. West Ham are also mentioned as a possible destination.

        

Eidur Gudjohnsen are the hottest name on the rumour radar today. Tottenham and West Ham are both keen to add the former Chelsea forward to their squad.

Villareal and Wigan are still hoping they can agree on a deal that makes it possible for Marco Ruben to get a chance to experience Premier League action. £ 4 million is rumoured to be the price.

Chris Smalling is a close target for Man Utd. Fulham will in the near future get an offer for Smalling in the region of £14 million. The player has been capped at England U.20 and U.21 level.

Jason Puncheon could join Southampton in a £ 350 000 move from Plymouth. Wigan are keen to add Swansea midfielder Leon Britton to their squad.

Antonio Cassano could be the next player to join Manchester City. Roberto Mancini could be willing to pay as much as £20 million to his former club Sampdoria for the highly rated player.

Chelsea are chasing Barcelona youngster Thiago Alcantara. The 18 year old talent can join Chelsea when his contract comes to an end at the end of the season.

Wolves and Bolton are both close to signings. Wolves are close to agree a move for Hull midfielder Stephen Hunt in a £ 4 million deal. Bolton will try to bring in Dindane on a permanent basis from Portsmouth.

Jason Scotland could join Barnsley. Wigan is eager to sell with Barnsley wanting a loan deal. West Ham will miss out on Gudjohsen, but could land both Bentley and Pavlyuchenko on loan from Spurs. Benny McCarhty is also a target and could sign by the end of the week.

Leicester could end up as the winner in the race for Crystal Palace midfielder Victor Moses. Moses has been chased by a number of clubs, but a chance to play regular first team football is important. Nottingham Forest is also reported to be in the chase and could hijack the deal.

Burnley manager Brian Laws is likely to sign Chris Guthrie from Newcastle in the next 24 hours. Pete Whittingham could join Nottingham Forest from Cardiff.

Arsenal are closing in on AC Milan forward Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and he could join on loan until the end of the season. Russian Igor Akinfeev could also be close to a move to Arsenal.
