Benitez, can he survive, Liverpool falling down ?
-

Rafael Benitez went close to win the Premier Leauge last season, but so far in this campaign it looks difficult. Yesterday's away defeat to bottom placed Portsmouth makes it easy to see that something is wrong

Liverpool is a proud club with a fantastic history. Rafael Benitez has also done well while at Anfield. Benitez has since his arrival in 2004 been a fairly successful manager.

Liverpool has under Benitez managed to get some of their self respect back and this season was thought to be the best under Benitez.

So far things have not worked out and the poor form is now starting to make players, fans and board members worried that something is wrong at the club.

The fact that both Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard are absent at the same time is one good excuse. There is now doubt in the world that you cannot compete at the same level without them.

This season has been played with Gerrard and Torres out, and also the loss of Xabi Alonso is there to see. Alonso replacement Aquilani has been out with injuries.

The situation at Liverpool is not what people would have liked, but hopefully Benitez will get time to get things right. Benitez deserves backing at this time and what he has done for the club earlier should be taken into consideration.

Benitez has been successful at Liverpool and the man who ended runners-up with his team last season will have enough knowledge to get this right.
