Transfer talk and rumours, Benzema could part company with Real Madrid
-

The January transfer window is getting closer and new rumours appear every day. Today Karim Benzema is linked with a number of European clubs after a difficult time so far in Spain

Benzema has been linked with a number of Premier League clubs. Man Utd was reported to be one of the clubs that chased the French international during the summer. Chelsea and Arsenal could also be ready to launch a bid if the player becomes available.

Former Arsenal forward Thierry Henry is mentioned as a possible target for New York Red Bulls, but a move will not take place earlier than next summer.

Roy Keane and Ipswich looks like winning the race for kid wonder Connor Wickham. Wickham (16) has allready played 10 league games for the East Anglia Club and will sign a new five year deal. He is described as the next Wayne Rooney.

Spurs manager Harry Redknapp and newly appointed Portsmouth manager Avram Grant are both told by their chairmen that no money will be available in January if they not sell any players first.

West Ham forward Dean Ashton will officially retire today. A sad day for everyone to see such a great footballer missing out on more Premier League action.

Jack Compton has joined Falkirk. The former WBA and Portsmouth player could have joined Newcastle but thought he was better off in the SPL.

Sol Campbell could be a possible target for Arsenal. Wenger knows the qualities and has not shut the door to his former captain.

Derby winger Giles Barnes can leave the club after his contract was cancelled. Barnes was a hot name a couple of seasons a go and hopefully some day he will end up in the Premier League.

Jim Magilton and Brian Laws are both under pressure at their clubs. Magilton will most certainly leave QPR and Laws could get the axe at Sheffield Wednesday. Darren Ferguson is linked with The Owls.

Rumours will not go away, despite Carlo Ancelotti's attempt to talk down all type of transfer rumours. Ajax forward Luis Soares is a name that is mentioned. Sergio Aguero from Atletico Madrid is another name linked with Chelsea at a number of websites.

Jack Rodwell is mentioned as a target for Chelsea and Man Utd. Rodwell is one of the best prospects in English football today and David Moyes could cash in and use the money to strengthen his team in several areas.

Gianfranco Zola could go for Brazilian power in his attempt to climb the Premier League table. Adriano is a target for The Hammers. The former Inter player is currently doing well in Brazil with Flamengo. He is a free agent after the season in Brazil finished.

Nottingham Forest is targeting Plymouth forward Jamie Mackie. A possible move could be blocked by newly appointed Plymouth manager Paul Mariner.

Norwich manager Paul Lambert will be nervous in January. Key players Grant Holt and Wes Hoolahan could both be targets for clubs at a higher level.

Charlton winger Lloyd Sam could be a target for Newcastle. The highly rated player would probably jump at a chance to play at St. James Park.

Leicester City is chasing Arsenal youngster Jack Wilshere. Wilshere could join the Midland club on loan for the rest of the season. Karrea Gilbert is also a possible loan target for the foxes.

Peterborough is linked with Crewe forward Calvin Zola, while Bolton manager Gary Megson is waiting on a chance to sign Man City's Benjani. Benjani (31) will probably need a move to get a chance to play first team football.
