Blackpool, another fantastic adventure in the making
-
Blackpool
is a club with a proud history. They were last seen at the highest level
in 1971. Their current manager Ian Holloway is not like other managers
and this probably suits The Seasiders.

Ian Holloway took over
at Blackpool in front of the season and so far things have gone
fantastically well. The club ended 16th last season and is now in 8th
position only one point away from the play off zone.
Holloway who played most of his career at Bristol Rovers and QPR, has
previously been a manager with great success at Plymouth Argyle.
He was tempted by Leicester City and grabbed the chance to manage them
and almost destroyed his reputation as a good gaffer when the foxes for
the first time in their history was relegated to the third level of
English football.
The chance to get back into management with Blackpool has again given
people belief in him and the fact that his "odd style" can work out and
give success.
Brett Ormerod is one of the key players in the team. Ormerod started his proffessional career at Blackpool and
has played at a number of clubs in the Premier League and the
Championship before returning to Bloomfield Road. He is a proven
goalscorer and a player that knows this level well.
Former Watford and Fulham winger Hameur Bouazza has also ended up at
Blackpool. The Algerian international, has previously played in the
Premier League and could be in line to play in South Africa this summer.
Defender Neal Eardley joined from Oldham and the Wales international is
a very interesting signing. Eardley is only 21 years of age and someone
that can evolve into a good and reliable Premier League player.
Holloway has also added Aston Villa youngster Barry Bannan to his squad.
The player was at Derby last season and is a Scotland U.21 international.
He is loaned until the 30th of January and one that can be very
influential.
Blackpool is a club with great tradition and for many attached to the
legendary Stanley Matthews. Matthews played for Blackpool in the 50's
and is by many described as the best footballer ever.
Blackpool played at the highest level from 1937 to 1967, and came back up
again in 1970. This season has started well and could it again be hope for top flight football at
Bloomfield Road.
