He was described as the most talented player on the planet at the age of 14, and played proffesional in the MLS. But what happened to this great talent and where is he know

Freddy is 20 years of age today and playing in Europe. But the player everyone thought would be the next Pele or Maradona, is not shining at Real Madrid or Manchester United, he is playing for Belenenses in Portugal.

He is still a highly rated player, but the former Man Utd target is far away from the limelight and the success experts thought he would get fast and rapid at a very young age.

He managed to get a trial at Man Utd a few years back, but ended up with Benfica. Benfica has never really given Freddy a chance to shine. After only one season at Benfica he was loaned out to Monaco.

He never managed to impress the coaches at Monaco and returned to Benfica this summer, but has now been loaned out to Belenenses to gain more experience.

Adu made his full international debut in 2006 and has since then played 15 times and scored 2 goals. Adu could be on schene in the World Cup coming up this summer.

His talent is known, but will the boy wonder ever manage to reach the level of a world class player.
