Daily Mirror reports
that Everton and Aston Villa are in a massive battle to sign Sheffield
United defender Kyle Noughton. Noughton (20) is one of the most exciting
young prospects in the Championship.
Rumours earler was that Sheffield United would let Noughton leave if
someone managed to pay their asking price, which was £5 million. Now
Aston Villa and Everton are reported to be willing to pay £7 million.
Noughton is a product of the Sheffield United youth academy system and
has also gained experience by playing the 2007-2008 season on loan at
Gretna, who then was a team in the SPL.
Noughton has also been capped twice at England U.21 level and could be a
challanger to Ashley Cole in a year or two.
