"babyfaced assassin"

Sir Alex Ferguson was in a fantastic mood yesterday. He was also a bit
philosophical talking to the press at Carrington, in front of a very
special testimonial taking place today
The big event at Old Trafford today is of course the testemonial match
for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in front of a packed Old Trafford, with more than
67 000 tickets sold for the game.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made his debut at Man Utd in 1996 and used only 6
minutes to score his first goal in the famous red shirt. The summer transfer
from Norwegian club Molde was nothing the English press used much time on,
and when he made his debut he was almost unknown for Sky Sports commentator
Andy Gray.
His start against Blackburn was a good one, scoring in a game that ended in
a 2-2 draw and at the same time started a great partnership with Eric
Cantona.
Solskjaer scored 18 league goals in his first season at Old Trafford and
helped Man Utd winning the Premier League. After scoring some fantastic
goals and with a "young look" he got the nickname "The babyfaced assassin".

Today almost 12 years later it is clear that both manager Sir Alex Ferguson
and the fans of Man Utd describes the player as a "special one" with his
fantastic loyalty to the club that gave him a chance in European
proffesional club football.
Solskjaer played 366 games for Man Utd in which he scored 126 goals. He was
in the starting 11 216 times.
Solskjaer won the Premier League 6 times, the FA Cup twice and the Champions
League once. Local paper Manchester Evening News describes Solskjaer as popular as
Keane and Cantona among Man Utd fans.
Sir Alex Ferguson talks about the weather when he describes Solskjaer. When
you come from places like Ole Gunnar you will always manage to fight back, no
matter what. People from the north coasts knows about difficult times and how
weather can be cruel and difficult to handle.
Sir Alex continues and says that as Scottish he knows everything about
weather, talking about the fishermen and the workers in the Glasgow
shipyards.
While Sir Alex continues to praise Ole Gunnar on his way out of the press
conference at Carrington, the man himself sits back and talks about his
future and how he will help young boys and girls in Africa, by funding a
project, building 10 new schools in the area.
Solskjaer ends his press conference talking about his 12 years with Man Utd,
describing it as a fantastic adventure. He managed to get a feeling of what
English football "was before" when he joined the club in 1996, today things
are so different with much more foreign players in the league, he describes
as the best in the World.
