London rivals Tottenham and Chelsea in
transfer struggle

Luis Felipe Scolari and Juande Ramos are both eager to strenghten their
squads in front of the new season, but everything isn't going as
smoothly as expected
The Sun reports that Tottenham is far away from a settled deal with
Zenit St Petersburgh over their star forward Andrej Arshavin. There has not
yet even been confirmed a bid for the player.
Arshavin has been linked with Arsenal, Tottenham and Barcelona, but wage
demands and a high transfer fee could stop a move this season and then
Arshavin will stay with Zenit.
Chelsea manager Luis Felipe Scolari has made several bids to try to land
Real Madrid's Robinho, but not been able to offer an unrealistic transfer
sum for the young Brazilian international.
Chelsea also missed out on Ronaldinho and a move for Kaka looks unlikely
after AC Milan rejected a bid of £ 80 million.
