There have been no transfer activity between the London rivals, but that
doesn't stop Arsenal from cashing in on Tottenham's latest signing
The Sun reports that Arsenal will receive no less than £ 7 million from
the David Bentley move. Bentley used to play for Arsenal and a clause in his
contract at Blackburn, releases a cash percentage when the player moves on
to a new club.
David Bentley will also join a special group of very few players with a
career at both Arsenal and Tottenham. Pat Jennings, Steve Walford, Clive
Allen, Sol Campbell and Willie Young are other players who have been at both
clubs.
Clive Allen, was transferred from QPR to Arsenal in front of the 1980-81
season, but was again swopped with Kenny Sansom before the season started
and never appeared in the league for Arsenal. He played for Tottenham from
1984 to 1988.
