Man Utd might be one of Europe's greatest clubs to play for, but for a
group of young players not breaking through, it might be bette to leave
for other options
Daily Mail reports today that Ryan Giggs convinced one of his younger
team mates to quit Man Utd and try his luck elsewhere. Chris Eagles is the
player that got the advice from Giggs.
Eages has been at Old Trafford for about five or six seasons and played a
few games in the League Cup and six Premier League games. The 22 year old
midfielder, born in Hemel Hempstead, will join Championship club Burnley.
A lot of young talents have managed to establish themselves with other clubs
in England after being "fringe" or youth players at Man Utd.
Robbie Savage, has been a success in the Premier League with Leicester,
Birmingham and Blackburn. He had to leave Man Utd as a youth player, after
being released, and joined Crewe to recapture his career.
Phil Bardsley and Kieran Richardson both quit Man Utd and joined Sunderland.
Ryan Shawcross at Stoke is another great example of a young player that were
down in the pecking order at Man Utd and has been fantastic for Stoke in
their great 07-08 Premier League promotion campaign.
Forward Fraizer Campbell and goalkeepers Ben Foster and Tom Heaton are other
examples of great young talents who at the moment are Man Utd players, but
has done well out on loan at other clubs.
Fraizer Campbell was a great hit at Hull, Ben Foster helped Watford to
promotion a few years back and this season England U.21 goalkeeper Tom
Heaton will be playing for Cardiff City.
