Tottenham and Arsenal will not gamble on
heavy wage demands

Players are constantly linked with Premier League clubs, but there is a
budget both on transfer funds and wages, this could stop many of this
"silly seasons" transfers to be completed
Mirror reports today that Zenit St. Petersburg player Andrei Arshavin
would love to go abroad and play for one of the bigger clubs in Western
Europe.
Barcelona, Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham have all been mentioned as
possible new destinations for the Russian who impressed everyone during Euro
2008.
The Russian league is known for quality and their clubs are doing well in
Europe, with Zenit winning the UEFA Cup this season after defeating good
opponents such as Bayern Munich (semi-final) and Rangers (final). Wages are
competetive and most of the players in the Russian squad play their football
in their home country.
The problem is that several Premier League clubs have a certain wage
structure and that could be what will stop a transfer to Tottenham or
Arsenal. Arshavin is reported to be paid (in total) around £ 4 million a
year and that scares the London rivals and that's why it's unlikely that the
Russian star will not be seen in the Premier League next season.
