Helge Riise put all responsibility for his injury nightmare on Tom Nordlie.
Bjorn
Helge Riise's season hangs in a thin thread after news that the player loses
six to eight weeks as a result of a new and serious
injury.
"This
is the fourth time I get this tension.
I am heavilly provoked," says Riise to 2 TV sport.
But it's not only
the extent of the damage that makes Riise provoked.
The
player believe Tom Nordlie, his former coach, is to blame for his injury
nightmare.
"I've
never struggled with injuries throughout my life and have been well-trained,
but the way Tom (Nordlie) ran us through last year, with training and
extreme pre-season work, I have never been involved in similar," says Riise
to 2 TV sport."
Combined with international duty, it became too much, so much that he used
the international call up's under Aage Hareide to rest.
It was a dream to
have come into the national team. But after having played matches there, and
I came back, he did not talk about the rest.
"I have talked to many who have played under Tom.
Almost half the team
has struggled with groin problems, heavy legs and the general body has been
destroyed, " said Riise.
Riise was in front of last season linked with a move to Liverpool, joining
his brother at Anfield. The Norwegian international was previously playing
in Belgium with FC Brussel and Standard Liege.
