Makelele leaves Chelsea

Claude Makelele is one of the great Gentlemen in the sport of football.
He will be back in France next season with
Paris St Germain
He was signed from Real Madrid by
Chelsea in 2003 for a fee believed to be in the region of
£ 17 million. Makelele played for Chelsea in a period that so far must be
described as the best in the clubs history.
Makelele must be described as a real gentleman of football and is up there
with other players that we would like to mention in the same category.
The likes of Ian Callaghan, Gary Lineker and Trevor Brooking comes to mind
when you look back in English league football for simular type of players.
Makelele has a great vision and is always calm in his defensive midfield
role. A great player to have in any team that wants success.
The little man in the Chelsea engine room will now return to French football
and see out his career with Paris st Germain. At the age of 35 he will still
have a lot to offer.
Makelele left Chelsea on a free transfer and can look back at a wonderfull
time, winning the league, the FA Cup and the League Cup while at Stamford
Bridge. He also played a key role in the Champions Leauge tournement this
season when Chelsea reached the final and lost to Man Utd on penalties.
