Chelsea's new manager Luis Felipe Scolari is a busy man at the moment
and new faces could soon arrive at Stamford Bridge, with Makelele
leaving for Paris as the latest departure
BBC reports today that Claude
Makelele has joined Paris St Germain on a free transfer. The 35 year old
French international played five seasons for Chelsea after his £ 16.8
million move from Real Madrid.
Didier Drogba is, according to the latest reports, happy at Chelsea. He was
left out of Chelsea's current pre-season tour, but the reason is that he
needs to rest and not that he is on his way out.
Essien and Cech have signed long term deals with Chelsea and everything
looks as if Lampard will be at Chelsea also for the 08-09 season.
New faces so far are Deco, recently arrived from Barcelona and defender Jose
Bosingva. Both player will be great new additions to the Chelsea squad.
Steven Sidwell recently left the club for Aston Villa. Sidwell's spell at
Chelsea must be described as a disaster after a fantastic time at Reading.
He could if things works ok at Villa be a new contender for a place in
Cappello's England team.
Chelsea are eager to sign AC Milan's Kaka, but bids for the Brazilian have
so far been turned down by the Italians. The latest rumour was that Chelsea
would be willing to pay £ 80 million.
The Sun reports today that Real Madrid forward Robinho is desperate to join
Chelsea and there were rumours about a possible move earlier in the summer.
